Downloaded 'two different' sets of ISO images of SUSE 10.1 GM from different mirrors and they both throw up 'No Valid Installation Media' when I get to the package selection stage (or not as the case is). So that kinda rules out a dodgy build, MD5's look good?
Tried burning the iso's to CD (all 5) and making a DVD via makeSUSEdvd and exactly the same problem, have tried on various machines and still the same problem....what is going on?
When using the CD's it takes about 25 minutes 'initialising catalogues' and building pacakges' then bombs
I have not been able to install SUSE since they started on 10.1 RC1?
I have tried a failsafe install with the same result.
Also tried doing an upgrade via YAST and the install failed big style, could not install kernel properly.
Maybe it is a weird ACPI setup or something on my computer as I have seen problems with this before but I have tried changing BIOS setups to no avail. It maybe to do with the 64 arch on my 3Ghz chip?.....oh by the way I am using the i386 install as I don't see the point in installing the 64Bit version as I end up using i386 packages anyway....i386 install works with 10.0!
Any ideas would be most welcome as I currently have 10.0 GM installed since it was released and that went without a hitch as did 9.1, 9.2, 9.3.
PC config is:
Intel P4 3.0GHz emt64
ASUS P5P800 M/B
1GB RAM
ATI Radeon 256MB Graphics
Sony 16X Dual layer DVD+-
Gonna give it a few more shots then SUSE 10.1 is going to the naughty step
Cheers!
