Opensuse 11.3, kontact/KDEPIM, google sync

Dear list

has anybody managed to sync their gmail/googlemail contacts and calendars in OpenSuSE 11.3 (RANT: which, imho, seems pretty buggy - when can we expect stability?) with Kontact?

I've followed several how-tos (non-specific to SuSE) and nothing seems to really happen. I've installed akonadi-googledata and libgcal, added akonadi/google resources from the akonadi configuration tool and added the google resources in kaddressbook and korganizer, rebooted several times, googled until my fingers (almost) bled and even upgraded my system to KDE 4.5.1. Still nothing.

I'd love some pointers.

Thanks in advance, Neil
