How come that my network -especially samba- locks up.
I'm using the onboard gigabit nic 3c940 or something and I've got major problems swapping files using samba with my other Linux computers (all running suse9.2).
What is a lockup in your case? Do you mean no transfer? How about internet access? Is it locked up, too? Why do you use samba for Linux to Linux fileexchange? Wouldn't NFS be a better choice? Sorry, many questions...
Internet access is ok. I use samba because nfs can be accessed by anyone, it isn't really faster too.
anyhow I've bought another nic and now everythings is ok. I've read in some fedora forum that the 3c940 causes lockups when connected to realtek nics or something. It's a driver problem.
Everything functions allright now.
