My SuSE 10.1 issues : 3) Can't start the Yast partitionning module

Hello to all,

I recently installed SuSE 10.1 in addition to the 10.0 on the same machine, and I have a couple of issues I'd like to solve. Here is the third one...

I can't seem to load the Yast module "Partiotionning". Nothing happens, no CPU activity, no message. Someting that might be related, when I first tried to install SuSE 10.1, I got a message saying "no hard drive detected". I managed to install it using the "failsafe settings". Could that have screwed up the way SuSE sees my hard drive ? By the way, I used ReiserFS for both the "/" and the "/home" partitions.

Any suggestion appreciated...

Willy

Im unsure we'll be able to solve this - with it not giving any error messages etc...

After clicking the partitioner icon, open a terminal window and do a
$ps -ef| grep disk

On my machine i get:

graz@suse101:/> ps -ef| grep disk
root 6632 1 0 22:11 ? 00:00:00 /bin/bash /sbin/yast2 disk
root 6652 6632 5 22:11 ? 00:00:09 /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base disk qt

If no results appear on your machine i would look at re-installing YaST.

Also, just to make sure that you did install SuSE 10.1 on a different partition to your 10.0 install that you mentioned ??
