Did you install the driver?

http://www.suse.de/en/private/produc...softmodem.html

http://www.smlink.com/main/down/slmodem-2.9.10.tar.gz

Installation instructions are in the tar file.

I also have problems with this. I have a SmartLinkUSB modem. I downloaded and installed the drivers from their page and when i try to connect with KPPP i get this error:

Quote:
Error - KPPP

Exit status: 2

See 'man pppd' for an explanation of the error codes or take a look at the kppp FAQ on http://devel-home.kde.org/¨kppp/index.html

When i click on Details it says this:
Quote:
Oct 19 07:15:48 localhost pppd[6417]: Can't open options file /etc/ppp/peers/kppp: No such file or directory

And the modem log window at all this time:
Quote:
ATZ
OK

ATM1L1
OK

ATX3
OK

ATDT077100000
CONNECT 46667
Also when i try to connect with Kinternet or Qinternet it works, but after a few mins or so my connection just automatically disconnects and Kinternet and Qinternet dont even notice it. I turned off that timeout thing but its still happening.

Also i thought maybe i can surf the web anyway despite that error when KPPP connects (because it is already connected when the error comes out) but it doesnt work. I think the error comes each time when its supposed to send the username and password

Run kppp from konsole and see what error it spits out. You might have to do an 'xhost +' as user, then 'su -' , then 'export DISPLAY=:0.0' before you run it depending on ownership.

Type this command from konsole -

Code:
# rpm -qa | grep kdenetwork3-dialup
Don't type the '#', it just signifies the command prompt.

If nothing returns, then run YaST and install kdenetwork3-dialup .
