KDE Look Customization

I have a few general questions about KDE looks...

Is there a similar feature to small tool bar and fonts in Windows. I have played around in the control center and lowered the fonts but everything is still so large compared to what I am used to. It just does not seem that I am running in 1600x1280 res. Also is 24-bit the highest bit you can have supported for the res you are running at?

Things I have done:

-I did lower the fonts.
-I am aware of the tool bar sizes, I am more referring to the icons in the K menu and white spacing.
-I know you can change window themes, but none seem to be slim and cut down enough.

OS Info
KDE 3.2.1
2.6.5-7.151-default
i686
SuSE 9.1

for the kmenu icons: /home/<username>/.kde/share/config/kickerrc and open with a text editor.under [menus] change "MenuEntryHeight=32" to a lower number,i use 22.
24bit is the highest true value you can run, windows and 32bit is 24+8bits of some-other-data-i-can't-remember.

Oh, Oh! Thank you very much for that! Looks a lot better. Where can you remove the icons from the k menu, so it just displays text?

For the icons in the kmenu, edit ~/.kde/share/config/kickerrc.

(in case your new to linux, ~ represents your home directory. for me that makes the above /home/darkmatter/.kde/share/config/kickerrc.
You need to show hidden files (under "View" to see the .kde directory in Konqueror)

Find the menu section and change the size in "MenuEntryHeight=*", with the "*" being the icon size you want (I recommend setting the value to 16).

save your changes, then open a terminal and execute the following command

dcop kicker Panel restart

When the kicker restarts, you'll have nice, compact icons.

EDIT: piscikeeper beat me to it

As for themes, check kde-look, you may find some that are light enough for you.

Heh, Thank you both. I tried setting the value to =0 but it just makes them pretty small, it does not remove them. I don't want to mess anything up atm since I am still getting used to the conversion, but it sure is nice having it look small again. Aside from the removing the icons, I was also wondering can you make the task bar clock non 24-hr?, and I was wondering if anyone know somewhere to download Sparkling 0.5 Icons, they look pretty sharp on KDE-look.org but the link is currently having problems.
