Attempting to install SB Live 24-bit.

"motherboard" sound works fine.

Yast detects SB card.

During Configure process gets:

The kernel module snd-audigyls for sound support could not be loaded.
this can be caused by incorrect module parameters, includeing invalid IO or IQR
parameters

alsaconfig detects it and (according to it) configures sound card, but cant play sample sound.

During boot process, I see sound card/driver (cant remember exact wording) snd-audigyls started. or something like that. apologies for vagueness.

When Attempting to use gmix, get:

Direct access to sound device not possible

No soundcard available or sound support not configured yet. Etc....

Any help much appreciated.

Driver is too young. Alsa version is still under development. I've heard that switching to the OSS sound drivers will work, but you might have to get them straight from the source.

same problem here.

I've tried installing it from source, didn't work either. Probably have to wait a little longer. :-(
