I just took care of a similar problem on my desktop. I had downloaded the Remastered 10.1 DVD image file using bit torrent. You might instead wish to check your installation source.
Mine are:
server: download.opensuse.org
directory: distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/suse/
server: packman.unixheads.com
directory: suse/10.1
server: mirror.mcs.anl.gov
directory: suse/update/10.1
- I also added the iso image as a source, and removed the old DVD installation source.
- Then I disabled my old dvd source, and then started YaST2 software management,
- I changed the Filter from Search to "Installaton Sources". Then I selected the installation source that I had left enabled.
- Changed filter from search to Installation Sources
- Selected the instalation source I hadn't disabled. This filtered out the packages installed from other sources.
- In the secondary filter selected "Installation Summary".
- Below that, in the "Show Package with Status, I unselected Locked, and Selected keep.
- Next I right-clicked on the package list and selected: All in this list -> Update if newer version available
Next I enabled the update site and repeated the process. Finally I enabled the packman site.
Since updating had replaced the kernel, I need to uninstall ndiswrapper and rebuild an ndiswrapper kernel module rpm. I also needed to fix my nvidia kernel: ( in init level 3 as root) # tiny-nvidia-installer
