Sorry that your having problems with installation of games such as Doom III.
The Error messages in the log file are related to the video driver being used on linux.
The Doom III engine expects that video will be 32 bit and have Accel for Open GL Extensions.
The game will run on windows with what is installed as a driver from PNP but it is a bare bones driver and it will run better if you install the most current Updates.
For Linux the default drivers don't usually provide 3d accel. and greater that 16 or 32 bit
rendering. So what you need to do on the Suse Linux side is install the proper
video driver.
I do not recommend using yast to install the driver for any video cards. Instead download
the RPM or installer packages using with Windows or FTP with Suse.
Having a local package is better than depending on how well an in-line install over the
internet goes.
If the Card you have is a Nvidia then go to the Nvidia site and
download load the NVindia-Linux-pkg1.run file and install the driver.
If the card you have is a ATI then go to the ATI Linux site and get the
ATI-Linux.run installer and install the driver.
Before going to the installation of either card driver install the Kernel Sources and the
development packages from the 5 CD set or the DVD first. The installers will create a
custom driver to work with your card and box.
After you install either driver package use the KDE control center to set The display to proper size and be sure to select a level of 32 bit for the display.
