Deleted wrong Opera file 9.2 won't work!

I downloaded Opera 9.2 and then got the stupid idea that I should get rid of the 8.1 and 8.5 Opera files.
I did that and deleted something I clearly should not have.
Now when I click the desktop Opera icon nothing happens.
I re-downloaded 9.2 and still nothing happens.
I went to the Opera home page and found nothing to help me so I am here at LQ seeking a solution. I never thought that getting rid of the old files would prevent the new download from working.
Can anyone suggest something??

Try running opera from a terminal window so you can see the error message...

P.S. There is no 9.2

Sorry, you are correct, its Opera 9.02 and it will not run anywhere.
I am going to try to re-install it on my desktop.

I re-installed Opera on the desktop and now use the Opera icon from the new Opera usr file to open the browser.
