Compiling RedHat Project Under SuSE

Hello,

I have a written code. But the code is written in RedHat. When I want to compile the files by the command `make` I receive this error:

g++ -g -Wall -c polynomial.cpp -o polynomial.o
make: g++: Command not found
make: *** [polynomial.o] Error 127

But when I compile it in RedHat I receive no error.

Can anybody help me fix this problem?

I`d be happy if you reply quick, cos this is a homework. And deadline is 10 hours later :s

You need to install the c++ development tools on the SuSE machine.

Sadly, someone else from this forum will need to help you there. I don't use SuSE, but I understand it to be somewhere in yast.

Presuming you installed from CD or DVD do the following:
EDIT: works even if you didn't install from CD/DVD - just doesn't ask for disk later.

Navigate through these menus
Suse Menu > Control Centre > Yast2 Modules > Software > Install & Remove Software
If your not logged in as root then click Administrator mode and input the root password into the dialog box.

Type "gcc" without the " into the search box and hit enter or click on search button.

A list of gcc related programs should then be listed. Click in the tick box for each one you require, then on the accept button.

Yast should then ask for the relevant disk to carry out the install, and proceed from there.

Good luck
