cannot eject cd

I cannot eject cd/dvd. Message comes permission denied.
Please tell me what are the permissions to su/root and normal user as far as cdrom is cocerned?
Tell me settings so I can read,mount/unmount cd/dvd and eject it.
fstab entries are as follows--

chmod a+w /dev/hdb (if it is you cd-rom) will help you. Formally, it is dangerous, as far as I remember, if you are reading from an RW, someone malicious (virus, for example) can wipe it, but I consider this risk theoretical. Never forget about it, though. And it is better to use sudo.
