cannot configure which user to login

I use openSuse 10.2, and I defined one user during installation.

When the system boots, there is no password login window is displayed and system directly opens with that user. But I want it to ask for password at the beginning. I looked for various configuration tools but could not find anything useful. Could anyone help, thanks?

You enabled the default 'auto login' when installing. Go into KDE control center, (called Personal Settings in the start menu) click on the 'system administration' then click 'login manager' Click 'Administrator Mode' on the bottom and enter root password. Now click on the convenience tab and UNCHECK 'Enable Auto Login.

That ought to take care of it.

There are probably several other ways to accomplish this, but I think this is pretty easy
