blowfish konversation

right i have started to use the konversation irc client because it supports SSL and allegedly supports channel encryption using blowfish.

In the help files it doesn't seem to really mention it but from googling it it seems you simply type 'setkey <channel key>' i tried it and it said 'key accepted' but i wasn't encrypted! and i couldn't see what other people typed.

Any suggestions? what do i need to do?

well i managed to resolve this (although it took a email to the konversation devs), as nobody replied i might as well say how i did it if people in the future search for this.

Anyway its perfectly simple /setkey <channel> <channel key> the reason you have to set the channel even though your in it is becuase blowfish is a bit unfinished but it works well enough.

Incidently if you go to the server settings you will see you can add the default rooms to auto connect to when you login to the server and it allows you to set the channel keys.

There is also a box called 'commands' in this box you can issue commands upon connect, so in there you can set it to set your encryption keys. If you need to set keys for more than one room you can seperate the commands with a semi colon ie:-

/setkey <channel> <channel key> ; /setkey <channel> <channel key>

Once this is all done it works well with other users using blowfish or mirc encryption in m$ windows. I did find it had problems with communicating with users using fish however.
