Sound issues on a Gateway 7330 with Suse 9.3

I managed to dual-boot Suse 9.3 with Xp. I can't seem to get my sound to work at all. It detects a Conexant and an Intel sound card, but tries to use the Intel for the DSP and the Conexant for the Mixer. What do I do?

Oh, I am using a Gateway 7330 laptop, with 512 RAM and 3.0 Ghz. Intel Graphics card.

Also I noticed that on the Alsa website that my sound card is not listed spcifically, so that could be a problem....

i found the problem... it isn't inserting the card drivers during bootup... it said a unknown paramenter was used. I found the parameter, which is that it can't find the joystick port.

And I do not have one on my laptop. So how do I open up the driver so I can modify it to not have the joystick port programmed into it??? Any ideas will help.
