Backup Software (Disk Imaging)

Is there any decent FREE Disk Imaging software outhere.

I'm currently using Acronis True Image

http://www.acronis.com which is fine but it's windows software. You can make a separate bootable CD but it still means you have to purchase the Windows version in order to create the bootable version.

I'd rather a Linux solution.

(Partition Imaging works great --it restores your partition without you having to re-install anything again even if your hard disk is totally wiped. All you need to do after the restore is to load your Linux Install CD and re-initialize GRUB (NOTHING ELSE REQUIRED) and then you'll be able to boot your restored system.

Great software --but would love a LINUX version or equivalent.

Cheers

Have you had a look at partimage on the SystemRescueCd (http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page)? The home page for partimage is at http://www.partimage.org/.

thanks guys (Both) . Very good suggestions and the rescue CD is great. Boots really quickly as well.

(Can even rescue 'Doze' systems as well).

Cheers
