Hard Disk Imaging software


does anyono know where i cant find a imaging software that image the complete harddrive from MBR, to the very first sector to the very last sector?

i have no money, so if its a free software from the net it would be great

thanks, i am a newb btw

all linux distros have dd included

Well, depends on what you want to do, but you can always use a bootable CD to dupe a HDD with dd...

Don't know any win software...

theres one called 'imaging for windows' www.terabyteunlimited.com
however its a trialware...but u can use it for 30days freely...can do what u lookin for...can image an ext2/ext3 tooo...

Western Digital www.wdc.com has one. I don't remember it name, I have it install on my XP partition... I'm in Linux and running out the door (fear of running Windows does that to me). I think it is their lifeguard tools. I can look it up when I get home tomorrow.

I used it to copy data to a Maxtor drive (which also has a similar tool, I think), it complained that I was imaging to a non-WD drive, but did it anyway.

Try other drive manufactures web sites, as well.
