nexenta:release cd boot crashes at kernel start from cd

I am trying to boot the 1.0-b82 core cd.
It crashes at the start of the mini kernel, the trace messages are to short on the screen to capture. Last is filesystem syc/reboot. Must be the in ram filesystem.

I have successfully used the elatte install cd alpha7.
Unfortunately that one does not create a root zfs file system.

I am using a SN18000G motherboard with 4 sata drives and a dvd drive on ide to boot and install.

The boot process does not seem to recognize the cdrom drive as device.
I tried the disk on an other system,
After the hostname message it comes back with a cdrom drive name and something like building devices.
In the machine where the install crashes, it crashes soon after the hostname message. I do not see the cdrom device name.
I have tried an other dvd drive, no difference.
Tried master and slave settings for the ide channel.

Any suggestions?
