With yum, does it matter which release you start with?

If I installed full C2T1 and let up2date update everything, and on another machine C2T3 the same, would I end up with exactly the same systems?

if u didnt order up2date or yum to skip any packages then yes it should be the same but anyway both yum and up2date shows u the packages they updated and installed so u can compare.
