Creative Sound Card not working.

Hi,
I need ur help to install creative sound card in my solaris machine. I have intel motherboard. I download driver from http://www.tools.de/solaris/audio web site version 1.8. Installed also packages "Framework and Sbpci". but it does not work. Even when i try to install 1.3 version of Sbpci driver from same web site, it says me "installed successfully but could not attach to device".

I have builtin sound card as well which works perfectly if i use "Framwork and audioi810". But before using creative sound card, i stopped my that builtin card from BIOS, so no conflicting between them.

My creative sound card works fine with linux on same machine.

I tell you what exactly the model is and what linux says about my card.

-----------------------
From H/w
Model Number: CT4750
Creative soundblaster
-----------------------

From Linux
Ensoniq
5880 AudioPCI
es1371

-----------------------

Solaris detects that and shows as

PCI 128 Sound Blaster
PCI: 1274,8001 - Sound blaster PCI 128
Bus:2, device:1, function:0
Port: DC00-DC3F, IRQ:11

-----------------------

I tried my best all the way. I am able to install driver, but sound card does not work in any way.....

Just guide me what should i do?

thanks,

regards,
Shaan

shaanali; four (4) things to check : 1. hardware issues, 2. kernel module issues, 3. permission issues, 4. configuration issues. which ever is the cause of problem is where you concentrate on solving and resolving. from
description it may not be hardware but of installation. beyond my scope.
newbie too but read all lot on howto. still learning.

Well I am also new to solaris. I can say its purely driver's problem. Hardware and installation is perfectly fine. As i am listening right now very nice music from same sound card but from linux OS installed on same machine.

thanks.

regards,
Shaan
