Vfs: can not open root device

Hi everybody

Last night I had just finished installing slackware 14.2 with encryted LVM and everything was working, I believe I broke my lilo configuration after adding hibernation (mkgenerator) support to my encrypted partition. Now my machine boots and I get he following messages
- VFS: Cannot open root device " fd02" or unkown-block(253,2): error -6
- please append a coerect "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions:
Then there is more text line and the final line is end kernel panic not syncing VFS

I think I could fix it if I could access my lilo, but then again I'm still a noon, any help is appreciated

Boot your installation media and then read the section on the boot screen to recover an installation (on the screen with all the text before you press enter).

I did try your solution but unfortunately it did not work, my root partition is inside an encrypted LVM so maybe I need to pass a command when I execute the huge kernel?

Unfortunately, I have no experience with luks/lvm. I was hoping it would prompt you for a password. Your next option is to boot off the media into the setup environment and then chroot your lvm/encrypted partition. There's instructions on the Slackwiki that can hopefully help you to do that. Once you have the chroot setup, you can do your normal procedures to fix your problem.
