slackpkg upgrade-all

Hi All,

I follow this tutorial and suddenly something weird

Where this come from?

Code:
slackpkg upgrade-all

Checking local integrity... -DONE
You have a broken /var/log/packages/ - with two versions of the same package.
The list of packages duplicated in your machine is shown below, but don't
worry about this list - when you select your action, slackpkg will show a
better list:

aaa_glibc-solibs-2.33-x86_64-1
aaa_glibc-solibs-2.33-x86_64-4
aaa_libraries-15.0-x86_64-3
aaa_libraries-15.0-x86_64-9
..........
...........
xfsprogs-5.10.0-x86_64-3
xfsprogs-5.13.0-x86_64-1

You can (R)emove, or (I)gnore these packages.
Select your action (R/I): r

My instinct in this kind of situation would be to play safe and interrupt slackpkg, then use removepkg to remove the older packages by hand, one by one, being careful to use their full names. For example:
Code:
removepkg aaa_glibc-solibs-2.33-x86_64-1
Slackpkg is built on top of the old pkgtools so reverting to those in case of doubt should do no harm.

slackpkg upgrade-all

slackpkg can handle the removal. They have multiple versions installed instead of using upgradepkg --reinstall. If you select remove it'll show both packages and just select the one to remove.

that is correct, that is exactly what one would expect to see. I mean for each package not for all bunch. Did not happen on my case, but thanks for confirming. If R is selected will remove which packages?

It's all up to you to choose what package(s) to remove. Once you hit R, you'll see a list of packages that can be removed
(arrow-up/arrow-down to navigate the list and space-bar to select/deselect)

Hope that is helping...

interesting ... after I selected <R> it did not present me any list. But good to know I will try reproduce that (right now is fixed because I removed the pkgs manually) and post it here.
