partitioning for dual boot setup

i'm dual booting with windows xp..

i have 16 gigs to give slackware 10..
what is the best setup to have.. i heard all you need is /swap and /

but ive read in here you can have /home /usr /swap / and more..
what is the best course of action to take with a 16 gig space to use..

and if i do MORE then the minimum needed.. will everything go where it shouold when i just enter setup and the setup begins, or is there more to it..?

any info or links would be most appreciated..specially similar experiences..thanks

[ps, if anyone has a step by step install instructions, manual or how -to besides the one thats on slackware's site.. thats newbie friendly.. by all means.. please link me..]

not to be rude or anything, but there's plenty info out there (this forum, google) on preparing disk for linux. it requires you to type two words or so only.

as for the slack install, boot from cd, press enter

at prompt type root

then use cfdisk /dev/hdX (x is your 16 gig drive) to partition the drive (dont forget to write)

fom there just type setup and follow the prompts and that's all
