I have G1 mouse and this is my config:
Edit file xorg.conf:
pico /etc/X11/xorg.conf

And try to make like this:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
EndSection

Maybe you have installed slack with testing kernel, when i tried that kernel someday the mouse did not worked for me in default configuration.

Hi,

Several ways to do this! If you want to repair the mbr with your lilo. Just boot into your kernel, logon as your user then su. Then you should cd /etc. From there you can edit your lilo and add the required stanza. Then do;
Code:
#lilo -v -t -b /dev/hda  #test the lilo device hda
#lilo -v -b /dev/hda     #write lilo device hda
Or you could just do a liloconfig. Be sure to copy the /etc/lilo.conf to /etc/lilo.conf-backup.

Or you could run pkgtool and select the run script option. Here you would select lilo.

If you want to restore the original windows mbr just select the fixboot during the recovery console session of XP. Look here;
