Alright, I installed slack, and now I reboot and it starts up the command prompt, everything is configured, so I am not sure what to do now. I tried 'startkde' but that didn't work because I could not connect to the x server. I'm not sure what to do.
Any suggestions?
Hmm.....
Please provide some details regarding the system you installed to (hardware, etc.) I didn't know you had to pay to contact a member's im address but I could be wrong. Mods??? Whatever the case, pardoja2002@yahoo.com is my im handle.
OK, get all the info you can find on your monitor, video card, etc.
have it handy and as root type:
xorgconfig
This will ask you questions regarding hardware etc, and create a file for X to initialize from.
Just follow the prompts and everything should work.
OK, try this:
type (as root) pkgtool, go to the "installation scripts to run again " part, select the fontconfig option and then reboot.
And try again.
