giving non-root users access to sound in 12.2

I moved from 11.0 to 12.2 and have discovered that the /dev files related to sound are not rw access for non-root. So I placed a command "chmod a+rw /dev/audio /dev/dsp /dev/mixer" for these files in rc.M.

This works *somewhat*. (for non-root) The mixer doesn't have all options, and sound won't play for UTUBE on the browser which I think is flash-player. I have installed flash-player as root. When it runs as a user, seems to play but no sound. When ran as root works fine.

Are there other files in dev besides the three I have tweeked? Or is the problem with the installation of the flash player?

Try adding the regular users to the audio group?
