Able to boot but now anything I seem to do ends up with error while loading shared libraries

I can't get connected to internet wireless or wired.
tried several commands from command line and keep getting error while loading shared libraries.
Did some files not get installed that I need?
Do I need to go back to the install usb and chroot and install some network files. I ran netconfig and even put in a static ip and that didn't work.
ip a gives me a 169.254.149.152 address

trying to ping anything I get:
error while loading shared libraries: libunistring.so.2 cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

You miss package libunistring. You should do a full install unless you know what you are doing.

Sure. It's slackware64/l/libunistring-0.9.10-x86_64-3.txz. Mount the usb drive and 'installpkg' the package.

Thanks that helped.
Now when I run ping I get network unreachable.
I will now try to get wired network connected.
