GuruPlug - does anyone have a version of U-boot that works with USB drives?

Hi

I have been given a GuruPlug which I will use for testing Slackware, and I've upgraded to the version of U-Boot here:

http://people.debian.org/~tbm/u-boot...10-2/guruplug/

Unfortunately this one has an issue with USB hard drives. I tried an older version which also has the same problem.

Code:
Marvell>> usb start
(Re)start USB...
USB0: USB EHCI 1.00
scanning bus 0 for devices... 3 USB Device(s) found
scanning usb for storage devices... Device NOT ready
   Request Sense returned 02 3A 00
Device NOT ready
   Request Sense returned 02 3A 00
2 Storage Device(s) found
Marvell>>

It's not because there is anything wrong with the drive - it's the drive I've been using on my SheevaPlug.
It's been investigated before but this was in 2010, so if there was ever a fix, I'd have hoped it'd have made it upstream by now:
http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boo...er/078280.html

Does anybody have a version of U-Boot that works correctly with USB drives, and if so do you know where the patch is?

Thanks

Did you have a look at doozan's forum to see if there's any talk about that ?
OK the seagete plug derivates are not guru plugs ... but here's my 2 pence:
Some six months or so ago I updated my seagete plug like devices to boot newer kernels (by using doozan's updater script) and all can boot from usb flash drives ... but sometimes it fails. Apparently it happened more frequently on one particular device (the dockstar I attempted to add the missing hardware to get hwclock working) so I assumed I might have made some minor dammage on it.
In any case when booting from usb flash drive failed generally restarting usb and rescan usb devices got it working ... sometimes a full hardware reset was necessary to get things right.
My dockstars now boot minimal systems from internal flash while my goflexnets boot from a partition on the sata drives so I made no further investigation in the issue ... but all the tuning before that was done on usb flash drives.
I was actually planning on keeping the system on flash drives but since booting was not 100% reliable I went for something that proved to be more reliable.

I bought an eSATA external enclosure and am using that now - it works perfectly, apart from the USB socket on the Guruplug cannot be used to power the enclosure so I'm powering that from a USB port on the Open RD client.
The Guruplug really wasn't the best of the products.
