And again slackware is down. I cant help thinking if something happens once its a mistake - but twice looks deliberate.
No matter what the slackboys claim about the demise of slack not happening it does not look good.
Time for us all to look for a replacement distribution.
The website is simply not a priority. If you look at the -current changelog, there is plenty of activity. Heck even 13.37 has been tracking the latest Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird update blitz.
Even IF, and I say IF because it won't happen any time soon, Slackware died, someone would pick up the pieces and continue on with a spiritual successor. It has way too much of a following to just die.
Please relax and go for a nice long walk. Slackware is and always will be my distro.
P.S. I recently bought another Slackware T-shirt at the store. Let us support the cause in any way we can.
Funny, I just did the same thing last night. I'd been meaning to buy the 13.37 T-shirt, this whole website business just gave me a great excuse to do it.
No, and I don't want to start a new "are we there yet" thread, so I state this explicitly: there is no new release around the corner.
It's just that some people think Slackware development stops whenever the website goes down. People, there is a lot of activity behind the scenes, and reviving a stupid web site is not going to take away precious time. The next ChangeLog entry will have nice updates to play with.

Man, you are talking for yourself... move on and stop spreading panic, or go and provoke it on another community.
I cannot think of a happier and satisfactory experience using a Linux flavour. One year and counting, and my equipment working as in the first day after installation. Updates? Upgrades? Those really needed are already in ./patches/packages/ (Thanks Pat, Eric, Robby, etc...); what about those updates required because of SBo's or other packages installed by myself? well, rest assured that I (as maybe most slackers around) have learnt how to keep an eye on those little daemons...
No a new version of Slackware around the corner? Great, one less thing to do, more time to enjoy the sun, the beach, the life
