It's all the fault of overjoyed slackers unintentionally committing a massive ddos attack on the site.

Let us pray:
Oh, "Bob", fill us full of slack, so that we may remain untroubled by slackware.com's ups and downs.
AMEN!

I don't mean to complain, but I put an order in around the beginning of May and have yet to see my stuff. My CC was billed and I received e-mail confirming the order, but I don't have any further info. Are there extraordinary circumstances here that I should be aware of? How long does an order usually take?

Contact them directly. There was information about doing so in the confirmation email you got (it had a contact email address and a confirmation number). Only the Slackware store can give you an ETA on the arrival date.

Well, I also ordered something around mid April. It took a bit longer than normally, but it arrived completely fine and exactly all what I was expecting. So, I guess, it is a matter of where you are located. But I would think that is just a matter of regular mail taking its time to your destination. I was really happy to get my new Slackware T-shirts and other stuff. Even my son has now his own Black Slackware t-shirt (the color was an important factor for him, )

Bill, I wouldn't even begin to worry for the first four weeks. Almost everyone says to allow "4-6 weeks" for delivery.

I just loaded the website, and it loaded instantly, with no lag.
Since I know there are Slackware insiders reading this thread: have the issues been resolved, and can we expect it to stay up?

I didn't see anything about 4-6 weeks for delivery, but I did get my stuff today. 3 weeks and a couple days is a reasonable time I guess. Other vendors just have me spoiled I guess - I'm used to 3 days or a week tops.
Cheers...

This may have already been commented on as I have not yet finished reading the entire thread....
One of Slackware's key points is it's rock-solid stability. IMHO increasing release frequencies would create a less stable environment. I use Slackware on my Desktop because it is rock-solid. Yes it is a lot of work to maintain, but it is how I learned Linux.
My LAN server /developmental webserver runs Debian because the machine just sits there and it's nice to throw it a couple console commands and update it. My Laptop runs Debian as well because when I am on the fly and need something installed now I usually don't have the time to manually check dependencies, hunt down 12 different projects, compile source, configure..... (and sometimes do it 3 tiers deep).... It just does it. However, with it's convenience, I run into a lot of stability issues with Debian. Also it doesn't like when I want to compile and install an obscure package. Slackware is great when it comes to that. The community is great too. I know Robby (rworkman) is busy with his own life, developing new Slackware, and contributing to the community. However he has taken the time to help me, a few times.... privately, in my obscure needs. And that is just one example. (Niels Horn too ) I've tried Red Hat and Fedora, Ubuntu, and others.... Slackware fits me best and that's why I wear the t-shirt. (Side note, I just ordered another one, a couple small items and made a flat $10 paypal donation. As many have touched on before, with all I have taken from Slack, all it has taught me about Linux and the FOSS community, it is a debt I could never repay. Thank you Pat and the Slackware Team!)

Yeah... I know what you mean. Most of the items I order online I receive in just two or three days nowadays.

I'm not really that surprised. There was a sudden influx of orders that probably overwhelmed the store. As long as I saw some kind of heartbeat, I wouldn't be upset. The money is going to a good cause.

Hi
My answer to a question you emailed me in private, has bounced and the server for your mail domain gave this reason: " 550 5.1.1 <**********>... User unknown" (the asterisks are mine). You would do good to give me a working email if you want my answer.
Regards, Eric
