wlan0 on boot

I just installed a Linksys WPC11 v4 with ndiswrapper on a dell inspiron 1100 notebook with Slack 10. Everything is configured properly and works great. The only problem is it won't boot with wlan0 set up. Once I boot, I have to enter in 'modprobe ndiswrapper' and then 'dhcpcd wlan0' before I can get online.
How do I set it to boot with this already set so I don't have to set it everytime I use the laptop?

Sorry if this was already posted. I searched far and wide and couldn't find the answer.

Just put both those commands in /etc/rc.d/rc.local and you'll be good to go.

I tried that and I still have to enter 'dhcpcd wlan0' before I start my web browser. Anything else I can do?

Here's what I did:

Add this to /etc/modprobe.conf (if you're running 2.6.x) it goes in modules.conf if 2.4.x.
Code:
alias eth0 ndiswrapper
options ndiswrapper if_name=eth%d
That should load your module on boot, and give it the name eth0 instead of wlan0. From there, the slackware scripts will take care of it.

--Shade

PS -- Don't forget to remove your custom entries from rc.local

1madstork, try to put some time between loading ndiswrapper (I assume it's on rc.local) and dhcpcd wlan0.
Eg:
modprobe ndiswrapper
sleep 6
dhcpcd wlan0

in my rc.local i have
/etc/rc.d/rc.wireless wlan0
/sbin/dhcpcd wlan0
and it works fine

rc.wireless configured properly of course...
Did you do ndiswrapper -m to write the config?
and try using the full path for dhcpcd (/sbin/dhcpcd)

Do you have eth0 setup to be done through DHCP?

Try netconfig

--Shade
