wlan.conf? where to put w-lan pci settings

I have been looking through the myriad of threads about wireless but haven't been able to find out where I should put my sid and wep settings.

Some documentation has said in the wlan.conf file, but in Slack9 there is none.

My wireless pci is recognized as eth0 and dhcpd to grab an ip. Obviously I don't want to input a 128 bit key each time I reboot.

Thanks

I don't know anything about slack9, but to set sid/wep key you type this in...

/sbin/iwconfig eth0 essid yyyyy
/sbin/iwconfig eth0 key xxxx-xxxx-......

you can probably put them in your rc.local file if you can't find anything.

right, I use the iwconfig tools for ssid and wep. But rc.local doesn't seem to do the trick, or I don't know the correct syntax to put the information into the file.

Also the orinoco_pci likes to drop my connection. I am going to try and install the wlan-ng drivers and then head back to the rc.local file.
