WindowMaker and Slackware

Okay, so I used WindowMaker a while back for my main system until going into gnome and than tried KDE4 and thought it was okay but neither of those were as good as WindowMaker in my opinion, now one question though, I'm not looking for the desktop cube or any other Compiz effects aside from, is there any way to get something like the wobbly windows? I really liked that lol, I'd also like to change the opacity of some windows. Really the question is, are there any kind of effects that can be used in WindowMaker???

Thanks God, no. wmaker won't make you put up with any of that nonsense! Although, there is a git repo for an un-official wmaker branch (http://repo.or.cz/w/wmaker-crm.git) which has a new maximumize(or maximus) feature which is copied from some other WM.
Too bad you didn't ask for the rotating cube -there's a DockApp which creates a small rotating cube for you :-)
While, un-official, this repo has an active group of contributors who are fixing bugs and adding a few small goodies to wmaker. I also have a nice wdm setup, over 100 DockApps and the WSound server around -some of it on my site at:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...inux/download/

Oh wait, wmaker has for a long time had some animation effects -just drag a DockApp into the dock, then drag it back out and watch it explode!

I haven't heard it mentioned yet, but I rather expect that someone will come along adding window transparency before long...

Yeah my biggest thing is Window Transparency, it's very useful for say, terminals, I'd imagine there's gotta be one you can get with it as a built in feature.

I like the wobbly windows and animations etc just because when people see the effects I can put on Linux they're like in awe from it and sometimes ask a few questions about Linux lol

Exactly the reason I always do a full install of slack and keep multiple sessions configured. Whenever someone comes I switch to kde and show them all the cool efects and then switch back to LXDE for normal work.

I do just as ~sHyLoCk~. I install all the packages and I use Window Maker. When someone wants to see how Linux looks I show him or her Window Marker, Xfce and KDE.

In Window Maker I disable all nonsense features as animations or sounds. Window Maker is designed for power users.

If you're interested in Window Maker take a look at that thread: 15 applications for Window Maker. It has a few months but I update it regularly.

After you'll finish to configure your Window Maker you could show your desktop to the other people here: This is my Slackware desktop... Of course you could show there any other Slackware desktop too.
