Where to find Intel i810 video drivers

I put an old drive in my laptop and installed slackware 12 in preperation to upgrade from 10.2. I found I couldn't get X to start and searching on here and google I find that the Intel i810 drivers were removed from the X packages. My problem is I can't seem to find the driver, it looks like I have to download the whole X windows source and compile it myself rather than using the slackware packages. Is there no way to just compile the driver?

have you tried running xorgconfig? as far as I see, the i810 drivers are in the distribution:

Code:
root@portalab:/home/randomsel/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent# slocate i810

Yes, I ran the xorgconfig (or maybe it was (xorgsetup) and it just made the config file with veas listed as the driver.

Should be supported by the "intel" driver.

Well for some reason it just didn't install all the xorg driver packages. I mounted cd2 and looked in the X folder and installed everything with driver in it. Now X starts but I get a funny looking white screen like the refresh nrates are off even though I copied them from my working setup under 10.2.
Something seems really odd with the change to the 2.6 kernel starting in slackware11. I tried 11 and could never get the tap to click working on the touchpad so i never used it, now I can't get the video working in 12. Slackware 8,9,10 everything just worked so I don't know why 11 and 12 are fighting me.
