what have i done wrong


i have recently re-installed slackware 10.1 because samba wasn't installed by default and i wasn't sure how to install it, anyway more to the point. I can not connect to the internet anymore. the lights on the networkcard are on, but not flashing.
when i do ifconfig is shows eth0:
Link encap: Ethernet HWaddr: 00:30:fd:87:36
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

lo

Link encap: Local loopback
int addr:127.0.01 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436

can anyone help please

maybe run " netconfig " , fill in the hostname etc...( could be anything ), and
choose "DHCP "
then make sure the "/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 , ---/rc.inet2 , --/rc.inetd " files are executable.

Or add that line to /etc/rc.d/rc.local
