vsftpd anyone?

i heard that vsftpd is faster and secure than proftpd. this i tried and was convinced on it's performance for my slackware 10.0 system. now i'm trying the secure part but the vsftpd readmes suggests using PAM like:

auth required /lib/security/pam_userdb.so db=/etc/vsftpd_login

i did an slocate (after makine sure updatedb is working) and couldn't find "pam_userdb.so" nor the "/lib/security" directory.

has anyone configured vsftpd yet on slack 10 with PAM?

Slackware doesn't come with PAM.. Patrick has his many reasons for this as well. But to my knowledge I haven't seen anyone myself try using it in Slackware.
