What am I doing wrong?

Do you think it's better to go to the Slackbuilds mailing list with this issue?

Sorry, I was busy the last few days.

Basically I think your setup of virtualbox-ose shoud be fine. Looking at the error message you get again, the cause for your problem might be related to virtualbox-kernel. Have you updated the kernel module too? If yes, have you made certain an older version of the kernel module is not available as well?

First I did this:

Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.vboxdrv stop
/etc/rc.d/rc.vboxnet stop
Then removed the virtualbox-kernel package. Then restarted the OS. And then compiled the new virtualbox-kernel 2.0.6 package. Then installed it and then run

Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.vboxdrv start
/etc/rc.d/rc.vboxnet start
But again I got the same message. I am not getting this message as root so I guess if I have messed the kernel modules, I wouldn't be be able to run any VM even as root, right?

I think it's some permition, but which one?!

I downloaded the Linux i386 version of VirtualBox 2.0.6 and installed it, and... SUCCESS!

I am wondering what did it do differently. But since it works, ah well.

Thanks again

Update QT4

I was able to get virtualbox running on Fedora 8 after updating the QT4 files. Simply go into terminal and type: yum install qt4 You will need to download/install/update the files it suggests, and after that I ran VirtualBox smoothly. Hope this helps someone else that was having troubles with VirtualBox not running on their machine.
