USB Drive

Running Slackware 11.0 linux 2.6.17.13 huge26.s install from cd with extra's.

I'm trying to figure out what is causing the following problems:
When i login my PNY 512meg memory stick is mounted and works properly.
If i umount and try to remount the stick remounts to the proper directory and is accesible.. but kde doesn't register the mount.

Here is more info if needed:

If it helps...for some reason the device mounts to two locations /media/memory and /media/memory0

I don't really understand what kind of
problems you are having,
But are you mounting the usb stick
with KDiskFree? If you can't
then modify the sda1 line in your fstab file to look
like this. the file is loacted at /etc/fstab.
Code:
/dev/hda4 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hda2 / reiserfs defaults 1 1
/dev/hda3 /home reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs ro 1 0
/dev/sda1 /mnt/memory auto users,rw 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto noauto,owner,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
then try to mount the usb through KDiskFree.

You can always mount the usb stick manually
with this commmand.
Code:
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/memory
then to unmount the usb run this command.
Code:
umount /dev/sda1
I'll try get back to you later, I'm just gonna be busy
2day.

Thats it.

Its not a big problem. would just like for it to work correctly. just created a folder to the device to show contents as a work around and a script to unmount the usb drive for now i guess.

mounting the device in konquerer with whatever slackware 11.0 uses natively.

Well, please consider signing up an account at bugs.kde.org and adding some votes to it. I don't know how many it takes to get some attention on a bug, but more won't hurt.
