Update cdrecord?? How do I??

I am just wondering how to update cdrecord. I want to install the newest versions of that and xcdroast. I still can't burn CD's. I have the scsi-Emulation all figured out. I am able to mount. But I am getting some error saying it needs the latest version of cdrecord. I installed the newest cdrtools and looked to see what version was running and its still the old version. I then replaced all cdrecord files with the new files and same thing, seeing old version. Any help would be great.

If you built the latest cdrtools version 2.0 then try the following to install:

./Gmake.linux INS_BASE=/usr install

Or something similar if used other for the make system call. The default install uses /opt/schily/bin, include, lib, man, sbin. These directories are not in the search path.

After the install you should be able to

cdrecord -version

and it will report Cdrecord 2.0.

CDRecord Updated! Still getting errors?

That seemed to do it!! I have to start with the -n option

** WARNING **: Invalid cdrecord version 1.9 found.
Expecting at least version 1.11a34
Start xcdroast with the -n option to override (not recommended!)

Now I get this when I try to burn an audio CD

Calling: /usr/local/lib/xcdroast-0.98/bin/xcdrwrap CDRECORD dev=0,0,0 gracetime=2 fs=4096k -v -useinfo speed=16 -dao -dummy -eject -text -audio "/home/01 - korn - untouchables - From Your Heart.wav" ...

cdrecord: Bad Option: gracetime=2.

Also when i am in Eroaster i get the following error when i try to burn from MP3 right to the CD:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/gtk.py", line 130, in __call__
ret = apply(self.func, a)
File "/usr/local/lib/eroaster/main.py", line 659, in BurnWriterOptions
successfull = self.ConvertMp3ToWav()
File "/usr/local/lib/eroaster/main.py", line 2362, in ConvertMp3ToWav
output = cmdoutput(command, strip = TRUE)
File "/usr/local/lib/eroaster/tools.py", line 379, in cmdoutput
output = _readlines(pipe[0])
File "/usr/local/lib/eroaster/tools.py", line 363, in _readlines
line = opendescriptor.readline()
IOError: [Errno 4] Interrupted system call
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/gtk.py", line 2002, in __call__
def __call__(self, widget):
KeyboardInterrupt

All i want i to be able to make a simple music cd with out a hassle.

Any help would be great.

Well I never use any of the GUI interfaces so I do not know much in that regard. But to burn an audio cd from the console prompt try from the local directory where your wav files are located,

cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 speed=8 -audio *.wav
