Undefined Symbol error running Apache-Guacamole

I've been trying to get Apache Guacamole running on my Slackware ARM (current) system (RPi3); got Tomcat running, got the Guacamole Client servlet running, and I've built 'guacd' from source with, apparently, no problems (it builds and runs). But when I try connecting, guacd gives me the following error and closes the connection:

Code:
guacd: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/libguac-terminal.so.0: undefined symbol: pango_font_description_new
I have Pango (and Cairo) installed and configure finds them fine, but at runtime it fails, and have no idea why. What am I missing?

I'd appreciate some insight on what I can do to resolve this.

this means an incompatible library, most probably this one is too old, you need to install the recommended (compatible) version of it. Or you only need to set the environment properly (like LD_LIBRARY_PATH)

Thanks! Turns out my guacd binary wasn't properly linked to the pango libraries. I fetched updates from github, rebuilt, made sure to run some additional libtool commands that 'make install' warned me about, and it started working fine! I suspect my ld.so.conf also needed some entries. Either way, all good now. Thanks
