It has come to my attention that the almighty Bob wants 13.0 to have the 2.8 kernel, written in LOLcode. So it's my bet, Slackware 13.0 will never come out.
The next version will be called differently, and be released in the foreseeable future. But since the question was specifically aimed at #13 (rather than the more generic 'next release'), I shall claim the price when the next version is not number 13.0.
It's a long shot, but it's a bet I'm willing to take.
Well, as long as it's not called Slackware Vista...
My first Slackware was "Slackware 96"
What about Slackware Longhorn? (In a perverse way, I like this name)
Have you guys noticed? The only distro that has 'silly' threads is slackware. I've been using fedora/centos and debian for the last 4 years, I installed slackware in march this year, and you know what - it works. although slackware is said to be more difficult to set up, I had fewer problems with it than with fedora/debian/centos, etc. Initially I really didn't like the elitist attitiude towards slack (for fax ache - linux is linux), but now I can see why people like slackware (still don't like people who think that they are superior because they use slackware). It's faster than most distros and it JUST WORKS. I've been a happy slackware user for the last 3 months and I rarely boot into other distros - I suspect there're cobwebs there
