slapt-get issue

i recently tried out vector linux and enjoyed the slapt-get tool so i installed in on slack 10.1 and added a linuxpackages mirror, but when i try to install say firefox i get this
Code:
Reading Package Lists... Done
No such package: mozilla-firefox
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
now i know firefox is on lp so why cant slapt find it, i got the same output for xmms and fluxbox but worked fine for guarddog and amsn. Can any slapt-get users shine a light on my problem?
