slapt-get

I have decided to ditch swaret, and go with slapt-get, compiled and installed it just fine, and edited the slapt-getrc file, then ran slapt-get --update , and things seem to go well, but at the end it tells me to correct sources, and try again...I don't understand why..

PS, I am still running 10.0 , and I don't want to update to 10.1 I just want slapt-get to update to newer 10.0 stuff... and I can't really give show the contents of slapt-getrc , so someone who works with slapt-get at least give me an idea what to look for , then I post it , and see what needs to be modified..

I use linuxpackages.net as one of my sources. That plus slapt-gui makes for easy updating and new software additions.

Code:
# See /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.9h/example.slapt-getrc
# for example source entries and configuration hints.
WORKINGDIR=/var/slapt-get
EXCLUDE=kernel-.*,alsa-.*,lilo,.*-[0-9]dl$,devs,aaa_elflibs
SOURCE=ftp://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/slackware/slackware-10.0/
SOURCE=ftp://ftp3.linuxpackages.net/pub/Slackware-10.0/
SOURCE=http://software.jaos.org/slackpacks/10.0/

hrmm, my file doesn't look like that, this is all I have, under the sources. (at the beginning, since after that is the unofficial sources, which i have commented, and then mirrors listings) also, where did you get the gui, and how did you set it up?

Code:
# working directory, local storage/cache
WORKINGDIR=/var/slapt-get

# exclude package names and expressions
EXCLUDE=kernel-.*,alsa-.*,lilo,.*-[0-9]dl$,devs,aaa_elflibs
# * to exclude pre and beta packages, add this as an exclude:
# [0-9\_\.\-]{1}pre[0-9\-\.\-]{1}
# To exclude architectures such as i686, use the following:
# [\_\-]+i686

# base url to directory with a PACKAGES.TXT
# can point to any release, ie: 9.0, 10.0, current, etc
# you should really choose from an example mirror url below
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-8.1/
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-9.0/
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-9.1/
SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-10.0/
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-10.1/
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-current/

# slapt source

I found a faster mirror than slackware.com and used that instead of the default source

As for slapt-gui...

Official site
linuxpackages.net package

i don't think the mirrors are the problem, the problem is that when it goes through the --update stage, it doesn't show any failures, but at the end it says to rerun --update again, and I can't figure out why..

Code:
root@hideyoshi:/# slapt-get --update

Just put a (#) in front of the origional entries and modify with your own:

Code:
# See /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.9h/example.slapt-getrc
# for example source entries and configuration hints.
WORKINGDIR=/var/slapt-get
EXCLUDE=kernel-.*,alsa-.*,lilo,.*-[0-9]dl$,devs,aaa_elflibs
#SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-10.1/
#SOURCE=http://software.jaos.org/slackpacks/10.1/
SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.no/linux/slackware/slackware-current/
SOURCE=ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-current/
