The "README" in the "isolinux" directory tells exactly how to make a bootable Slack 8.1..

if its the latest 8.1 it might be the problem that some older bios's have in recognizing the cd as bootable your probably gonna have to boot from the floppy disks to get the installer going this is all just in regards if the cd was burned correctly if your running windows along side or on another computer try putting the cd in and if you see one big iso file on the cd then it didn't burn correctly or if you see directories and files and such, then it most likely burned ok, you'll just have to create the boot floppies to get slack installed you can read how to do all of that at www.slackware.com

OK welll hmm i put it in my windows machine and well its weird ok hmm it says that the cd isin there like the name/number thingy sshowsup so i know its in there but when i click on it doesnt come up it just says device not ready and all this shit hmmm i got other burned cd's for mandrake 8.2 and they work fine in that drive.

I also tried it in my linux box and it says that i dont have permission to this device but when i put in another cd it opens up fine soi think its a problem cd
