slackpkg upgrade-all fails

[edited for clarity]

slackpkg qpg works
slackpkg update works
slackpkg install-new works
slackpkg upgrade-all fails

Changing mirrors doesn't seem to help. Here is a short section snipped (thanks to that marvelous program "screen") from one "run" of slackpkg update-all:

Code:
    [  <=>                                                                                ] 2,071          5.97K/s

Removed `/var/cache/packages/.listing'.
Wrote HTML-ized index to `/var/cache/packages/index.html.7' [4707].
I suspect that there is not supposed to be a file named just ".asc". Presumably somehow slackpkg is failing to figure out correct filenames/URLs.

How do I fix this?

Strange. What slackpkg version do you have? Have you tried the latest in current?

Here's a snippet of one package upgrading:

Code:
Package: pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz
        Downloading pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz...
--09:41:59--  http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/l/pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz
           => `/var/cache/packages/pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz'
Resolving ftp.belnet.be... 193.190.198.20, 2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931

--09:42:01--  http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/l/pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz.asc
           => `/var/cache/packages/pango-1.12.4-i486-1.tgz.asc'
Resolving ftp.belnet.be... 193.190.198.20, 2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931

        Upgrading pango-1.12.4-i486-1...
It does save a .asc for each package but in yours there is no file name just an ext. I'm wondering if you have a corrupt /var/cache/packages/
