Here is a link to a tutorial for setting up that card:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...r_Slackware_11

The tutorial is for Slack 11, but the instructions should be the same for 12.1. You might be interested in knowing that the newest kernel (2.6.27) supports that card natively. You would simply need to download and compile the kernel. There are numerous tutorials for that if you have any difficulty.

Thanks for the help, I have my card working, but unfortunately I cannot use the network because it uses wpa2 passkey encryption, and apparently slackware can only use wep. That or I am missing something. help would be appreciated

Slack can use WPA. I use it on my own router. I'd suggest installing wicd as it's a great tool for connecting and will make setting up your WPA connection a great deal easier.

If you want to set up WPA using the network scripts included with Slackware, see Alien Bob's guide, which is basically the definitive guide to getting networking up and running with Slackware. If you don't want to traverse through that, masonm's suggestion of using wicd is a good one -- I've heard nothing but good things about it. Note that if you use wicd, you canNOT set up your network using the Slackware scripts -- they conflict, and you wouldn't be able to get it working. There is a SlackBuild for wicd at slackbuilds.org or a package (and SlackBuild) at rworkman's repository.
