RPM in Slackware package list

I saw rpm-4.0.2-i386-6 in the package list. Has anyone used this? Any pointers or pro/con suggestions between RPM and using pkg*?

The only thing bad about rpms is that you usually have dependenices and they can get to be annoying after awhile. I dont use red hat so I have never used that pacage before
