Problem with refresh rate...320Hz
Well, first some background to the problem: I have a Matrox P650 graphics card and a ViewSonic 17 inch TFT. My Linux distro is Slackware 9.1 and I have installed the Linux drivers found on Matrox web site. These drivers are foremost RedHat drivers, but I _think_ they should work with Slackware as it have been working (kind of).
When I installed the driver I got it working, but not the best resolution (1280x1024) and not the best color depth (32). What has been working is 1280x1024x16 at 75Hz. After trying to modify the XF86Config file it just stopped working and it only informing me that I'm trying to use ~320Hz as refresh when starting X. The configuration file is the same as it was when it was working, only another section covering 32 bit depth and refresh/sync rates modified. Even if I undo the changes it won't work!
The first time the monitor informed me of trying to use too high refresh was when I was in X and logged off. Now it does this every time I try to start X.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem? Are there other Matrox users who can share their experience so I can solve this?
Thanks!
