Wink date -s "20091022 17:47"

English (Castellano)

Replace it with the date you want for something immediate.

You could also try (también podés tratar):

Code:
chmod 644 /etc/rc.d/rc.ntpd
or

Code:
chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.ntpd
which is pretty much the same (es lo mismo).

Wink another method

As root:

Code:
pkgtool
Choose "Setup", then "services" (you might need to scroll down), then select/deselect the services you want.

You could also comment them out in your rc init scripts, but do it only if you really know what you're doing. In the end, you will do it anyway

mmm......

Thumbs up UTC or localtime?

Hi

Are you using UTC or localtime?

What is the output of this?

Code:
cat /etc/hardwareclock
It might just work if you use UTC, which you can set by using timeconfig.

ntp has nothing to do with daylight savings time. You need an updated timezone database (that is, a localtime file) which tells your system how to translate UTC into your local time, taking DST into account.
