Not able to connect with 3G dongle

Hi all

I have installed Slackware 14.0. I have 3G dongle and it is unable to connect with internet. These are the outputs I checked:

Here Airtel is the connection ID. I am using NetworkManager for this. Only once,in between when I installed multilib package, it got connected and after that it never got connected.

Anything I am missing???

Try upgrading to -current.

I've been using Reliance ZTE USB modem with Slackware 14.0 since its release and previously MTS CDMA modem with Slackware 13.37 with ease.
I'm not at home, so can't check the make and model of the modem at the moment but I've been using kppp for CDMA modems as the dialer and its been really great.
Yours seem to be Airtel GSM modem which seems to be an issue. Some time back I tried using Idea 3G GSM modem with kernel 3.2.29 but had connection issues, had to install their own GUI but finally gave up because of poor network issues.

Try compiling a newer kernel or upgrade to -current as allend suggested.

Hi Allend

I did upgrade to slackware-current, but it failed to connect in that also. Yesterday only I reinstalled slackware14.0 again. Although, that one time connection was in current only. Will upgrade it to current then and try again in that.

Will there be any issues in upgrading as I have installed multi-lib???

There is a section on multilib considerations.

There is also a tool 'slackpkg+' which has the capability to handle upgrades involving multilib.
